Sony’s NS-1 series for the ‘average Joe’…

Dec 31st, 2008 • Category: Objects of Desire |

When you look at the latest product released by Sony, the NS-1 series laptop, specifically designed and targeted at home users for those who are into multimedia.

It is not necessarily powered enough to call it a techie’s dream come true, but it does have the ‘Sony touch’ to it, in terms of looks, a decent performance if you look at the technical specifics and its use of state-of-the-art technology (software and hardware) to call it an object of desire for the average Joe.

The laptop runs on the Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 processor, uses 4GB RAM, is connected to an X-black LCD widescreen display, has a hard disk capacity of 320GB, a Motion-Eye webcam, a Blu-ray combo drive, “Draft-N” wireless networking and uses Windows Vista as its operating system.

Sony hasn’t released the price for this particular laptop, but if you’ve seen their prices for their products in the past, you won’t be surprised if this laptop isn’t priced at a premium.

Not only have they upped the ante in terms of hardware, but have included VAIO software that allows you to sort your music into different playlists (the VAIO Music Box) or helps you create a slideshow of your favorite pictures without much effort, as this technology uses built-in intelligence to simplify this rather chaotic task of organizing data in whatever form.

Well, on a rather nostalgic note, all I have to say is that, “No one does it better than Sony.”
