iPhone 3G… Macbook Air… what next?

Aug 24th, 2008 • Category: Objects of Desire |

I received a mail about 2 weeks ago that announced the arrival of the iPhone 3G in India. I rushed to the nearest Airtel showroom to check for the prices and availability. And I thought I could wait for a little more time, to pick it up.

The iPhone, which was released at the MacWorld last year, is an innovation in technology alright. A revolution in the cell phone industry created, designed and implemented by Steven Paul Jobs, founder and iCEO of Apple Inc. My first reaction was…wow! I was just blown away with this invention.

And now, the next version is out… faster, sturdier and as useful if not more, than it’s prototype/ predecessor.

With fast 3G wireless technology and GPS mapping, it keeps you connected every hour on the hour wherever you go. Not only that, it supports enterprise features such as Microsoft Exchange, and the new Apple Store, you now have access to business or personal features, if you so desire.

I recently saw the new Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. A great product but it doesn’t have the distinction of getting there first, even though cell phones are its area of expertise

According, to Steve Wozniak, the iPhone revolution has reached its peak, and will begin to taper off soon, but to the most of us, we know that the iPhone is not just a cell phone but also a widescreen iPod and a breakthrough Internet device with off the wall browsing and email functions, that can only be replicated. Not invented.

That distinction will stay with Apple. And they call it the iPhone 3G.
