Sex, Generalization in Chat rooms and the Kamasutra…

May 30th, 2009 • Category: Featured |

Recently, I visited a Yahoo chat session on spirituality and came across a cross-section of people from all over the world. We discussed concepts such as Instructional Design, Carl Jung, Astrology and material related to psychology.

I was chatting in the ‘public’ section, when a woman openly abused me, calling me a ‘horny and desperate Indian’. I was shell-shocked at this ‘racist’ comment. So I challenged her openly and got to know that while she was online, she used to receive ‘smutty’ messages from Indian guys for the most part.

And well, she made the connection that I was in the chat room for some raunchy online action, that too, in a chat room specifically catering to people with a strong inclination to spirituality. Weird!

So, let me ask you a question?

What’s wrong with being ‘horny’? No, really!

Let me ask that question again: What’s wrong with being ‘horny’?

The answer to this question is that there’s nothing wrong at all!

Yeah, let me say that again for re-emphasis. Absolutely, nothing wrong at all.

Why, you might ask?

Kamasutra – the ‘manual of love’. That’s why.

Where making love or call it what you will was documented into an art form by the wise sages of the past.

In today’s world, we refer to it in a derogatory manner – pornography.

What has indeed happened to our culture? Are we unable to ‘make love’ tastefully anymore? Or is there no time for that? Can we not even look at these subjects with dignity and recognize them as normal human needs, like hunger, for example.

Once we do that, we can then, consider ourselves as ‘adults’.

What I definitely know is that getting a hard-on isn’t unnatural, it isn’t wrong or taboo or any of those things.

All I can say is:
Know your body. Enjoy the pleasure that it can give. And make use of it. You have one life to live. Don’t waste what God has given you. Just don’t hurt people.

And if you do feel ‘horny’, kindly satisfy that need or it will manifest itself in an ugly way if you suppress or deny yourself of its pleasures.

Or haven’t you heard the phrase: Make love, not war.
